XC & NYC

Ed. Note: I started this post about two weeks ago and never finished it up. It's about time.

This past weekend the two older boys and I went to Bull Run Regional Park to watch the CAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. I've always been a fan of cross country and the boys said they wanted to go too. It was a great day to be outside. It was sunny and the temperature was probably near 70 by the times the races were done. William and Mary dominated the team races and took the women's individual title as well. The course was a 2k loop, and the boys and I stood in the middle and were able to see the runners go by multiple times without moving much at all.

Sunday morning I ran an easy half hour and then turned on the computer to follow the NYC Marathon. I was happy for Paula when she won the women's race, though I really was rooting for Kara. The men's race was very exciting, with dos Santos passing Goumri less than a mile from the finish after Goumri looked like he was going to run away with it.
